Education

Introduction

Nigerian children account for 20% of out school pupil, roaming the streets as their precious childhood fades into adolescence too soon finding out how ill prepared for life they have become. With 1 of 5 children not having access to education, Sustainable Innovation is strategically targeting the population with a rescue plan to put them to school.

The so call Universal Basic Education in Nigeria (UBE) promises a free education for all children until the end of middle school. The plan has worked few decades ago when parents can secure livelihoods and the country is not confronted by extremism. Current insecurity and extreme poverty necessitate many parents to make a difficult choice of pulling their children out of school to fend for their families. Street hawking, selling gasoline and learning instant but unsustainable trade is the norm in Nigeria.

Sustainable Innovation has been investing in improving income of families for few years already; giving parents a good reason to send their children to school. Food distribution exercises and start ups will inspire parents to look forward for steady income. With children back in school, education will continue to remain a tool not just to fight poverty but also help the country move forward.

Sustainable Innovation is working to send children to school as the foundation to build society with minimal crimes

Sustainability

Education is a tool to earn livelihood for most Nigerians. The narration however evolved over the year to account for lack of industries and limited opportunities for graduates. Sustainability addresses some of the challenges through involving communities to create start ups such as bakery and workshops. With reduced competition for work force, children can expect a good job following the end of their tertiary education.

The establishment of various small scale jobs is designed to improve productivity among older populace, with low education levels. The system is made to create opportunities for upcoming generations.

Funding

Sustainable Innovation wishes to introduce our Educational project and invite you to financially partner with us. Through our numerous projects in Nigeria (West Africa) we have recognized the importance of investing long-term in the lives of children through our educational fund project.

Part of the challenges parents face in Nigeria and Africa is their inability to pay school fees for their children. Some reasons that can be attributed to this reality include unemployment and job lay-offs. The global Corona pandemic and global economy challenge has resulted in some companies going bankrupt. Because of these reasons we are embarking on raising 3000 Euros to sponsor seven kids to go back to school for one year.

The goal of raising the 3000€,  will be to cover the cost of school fees for seven kids for one year. Thanks for taking the time to read through and for being part of this project that transforms lives. If you have questions do not hesitate to contact us at info@sustainable-innovation.org

Stories and Opportunities

The stories we gather have inspired us to forge a stronger and better Nigeria:

Deborah’s Short story: Deborah is a 10 years old brilliant student. When she learnt that her parents could not pay for her school fees to continue studying, she cried her eyes out. Thoughts of not getting an education, studying together with her friends and losing her dream of becoming a person of influence troubled her.

12 years old Victor loves learning computer coding, even though he lacks the necessary equipment to learn his passion. The inability of his parents to also pay for his school fees made his dreams of becoming an engineer look impossible and far fetched.

Kids are the leaders of tomorrow and the “tears of broken dreams” we saw in there eyes touched our hearts. We believe that these seven kids have a bright future, and with your partnership we can change the narrative of there stories by making their dreams obtaining education possible. Your donation will be empowering potential future leaders.
